I knew that C.S. Lewis and I had more in common than our Christianity when he said, "You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." Welcome to a celebration of faith, tea, and the written word. I'm always engaged in a book, and whether it's one I'm reading or one of the inspirational historical romances I write, there's always a cup of tea close by. Join me in a cup as we chat about faith, our favorite books and the exciting places our reading and writing adventures take us.

Welcome Debbie Lynne Costello...and a Giveaway!

This week, Debbie Lynne Costello graciously agreed to answer a few Q's, tell us about her newest book, and offer a signed copy of one of her books!

Tea or Coffee?

I always have 2 cups in the morning with a little honey…okay a LOT of honey!

If you could redecorate one room in your house, which would it be? How would you do it? (color schemes, etc)

Hmmmm. I think it would be my kitchen. The first thing I would do is put down ceramic tile that looks like dark wide plank hardwood flooring. I’d change my light oak cabinets to dark and a little more rustic. My walls would be a very light brown. If money was no issue I’d love to find some appliance that looked antique but were modern. It would definitely have a western flare to it.

Favorite board game?

Ugh! I’m not much of a board game person. But does chess count? I do like that and even an occasional checkers.

What’s a favorite book from childhood?

Ribsy by Beverly Cleary. Oh my goodness, I loved that dog!

Writers tend to be voracious readers. What books do you return to time and again?

Gone with the Wind!

Being a writer is a solitary endeavor, but no one does it completely alone. Who has been your support?

My husband has been amazing! He has supported me both with encouragement, prayers, and financially without ever hesitating. My mother has been a huge encouragement to me. And MaryLu Tyndall has supported me, encouraged me, and helped me through rough spots since I first started writing.

What’s your favorite thing about the hero of your book?

I love his protectiveness of the heroine. Although, at times he oversteps boundaries because of this, his heart really is in the right place. My husband is much the same way in that he won’t let me go out alone after dark. He’s always worrying about me.

How about your heroine?

Her love and loyalty to family. And that love drives her determination to clear her family name.

Tell us a little about your book, Shattered Memories.

Olivia Macqueen wakes in a makeshift hospital, recovering from a head injury. With amnesia stealing a year of her memories, she has trouble discerning between lies and truth. When her memories start returning in bits and pieces, she must keep up the charade of amnesia until she can find out the truth behind the embezzlement of her family’s business while evading the danger lurking around her.

Doctor Drew Warwick frantically searches through the rubble left by the Charleston earthquake for the lady who owns his heart. He finds her injured and lifeless. When she regains consciousness, the doctor’s hopes are dashed as he realizes she doesn’t remember him. But things only get worse after he discovers she believes she’s still engaged to the abusive scoundrel, Lloyd Pratt. Now Drew is on a race with the wedding clock to either help her remember or win her heart again before she marries the wrong man.

Sounds fabulous! I can't wait to read it!

Thanks, Debbie Lynne and Susanne for the interesting interview. I drink hot tea all day long. Just made a cup of Lady Grey.
