I knew that C.S. Lewis and I had more in common than our Christianity when he said, "You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." Welcome to a celebration of faith, tea, and the written word. I'm always engaged in a book, and whether it's one I'm reading or one of the inspirational historical romances I write, there's always a cup of tea close by. Join me in a cup as we chat about faith, our favorite books and the exciting places our reading and writing adventures take us.

Random Act of Kindness BLITZ!

A smile. An encouraging word. A thoughtful gesture. Each day people interact with us, help, and make our day a bit brighter and full. This is especially true in the Writing Community

Take a second to think about writers you know, like the critique partner who works with you to improve your manuscript. The writing friend who listens, supports and keeps you strong when times are tough. The author who generously offers council, advice and inspiration when asked.

So many people take the time to make us feel special, don't they? They comment on our blogs, re-tweet our posts, chat with us on forums and wish us Happy Birthday on Facebook.

Kindness ROCKS!

To commemorate the release of their book The Emotion Thesaurus, Becca and Angela at The Bookshelf Muse are hosting a TITANIC Random Act Of Kindness BLITZ. And because I think KINDNESS is contagious, I'm participating too!

Today I am honoring Ruth Reid, who is an amazing critique partner...and MORE! She's a prayer warrior, a good friend, and she offers me tremendous encouragement and constructive criticism. And most of all, she's patient with me. Ruth, for my RAOK gift, please accept whatever help you need from me on your next Amish-set novel!

I really appreciate Ruth. If you have a minute, please stop in on her website and tell her how awesome she is!

Do you know someone special that you'd like to randomly acknowledge? Don't be shy--come join us and celebrate! Send them an email, give them a shout out, or show your appreciation in another way. Kindness makes the world go round. :)

Becca and Angela have a special RAOK gift waiting for you as well, so hop on over to The Bookshelf Muse to pick it up.

Have you ever participated in or been the recipient of a Random Act Of Kindness?  Let me know in the comments!

You might get this message twice. I don't see that my first one posted.
Thank you! Thank you!
I'm truly honored!! I know God placed us in the same critique group years ago. I fell in love with your book the moment I read the first sentence. I'm still captivated by your stories and I can't wait to turn the page.
Your friendship means so much. I know we will be friends for a long time--we have so many books to finish and stories to be told.
Be blessed, Ruth

My favorite friends are the ones who are patient with me. :) It's so wonderful to have people you can relax and be your imperfect self around. :)

Angela, I'm glad you could stop by during your busy week. Thanks again for allowing us to share the release of your book--which I'm enjoying, btw!

Ruth, you are a fabulous crit partner and great friend. Thanks for all you've done for me! I hope I can help you a little bit, but you're the best plotter I know, so you don't need much help at all. ;)

You've described friendship perfectly, Miriam: someone with whom you can be your imperfect self.

Thanks for coming by!
